Pissarro Painting Art Collection To Sell At Auction

A private Pissarro collection of Original paintings and sketches by H. Claude Pissarro, Katia Pissarro, Paulemile (Paul Emile) Pissarro and Ludovic Pissarro will sell at auction on December 11th 2010. Manor Auctions, Fine Art Appraiser & Auctioneer, is pleased to offer this fine collection at auction.

Beginning with Camille Pissarro (French, 1830 – 1903), the Pissarro family developed in to one rich in art history and the art world. The Pissarro family lineage is unbelievable and unparalleled with artistic talent dating back through multiple generations. The family connections are closely interwoven in that most of the family members learned and apprenticed alongside earlier generations. The style of the paintings created by the different family members throughout the years hold true and resemble the Impressionist style, for which Camille Pissarro is greatly respected and known. Some of the later Pissarro's branched out in to some other styles of work.

During his life, Camille sold very few works. In fact the extent of his impact on the Impressionist movement is still not fully understood or realized. As with many artists, with their death comes great value. By 2005 it was not uncommon to see Camille’s pieces fetching 2 – 4 million at auction. To this day, Camille remains the most desirable of the Pissarro family.
