A collection of vintage banjos by Gibson, Paramount, Vega, Bacon & Day, Lyon & Healy and others to sell at October 9th auction. The banjo collection is consigned to sell from the estate of a life-long banjo player. Banjo collectors will enjoy the opportunity to bid on the fine selection of banjos in this collection, which will surely compliment any existing collection. The banjos also include differing types, such as tenor and plectrum. Many lots of quality banjo parts will also be offered along with the diverse offering of collectible banjos.

Manor Auctions is pleased to bring this fine banjo collection to auction on behalf of the family. Company auctioneer, Malcolm Mason, who acquired the collection from a south Florida estate said the wonderful assortment of banjos represents a substantial piece of the collector's life. The family thought long and hard about selling the collection as it meant so much to the estate. In the end, they felt it best for the banjos to live on with others musicians and collectors so they may continue to bring enjoyment.

The collection of banjos also includes a few other stringed instruments, such as Kunishima Mandolins, Fender electric guitar, Gibson acoustic guitar and a Gibson Les Paul electric guitar.

As mentioned, the collection included a very large grouping of banjo parts, which are also included in the auction. The banjo parts are grouped in to lots and include hardware, necks, bridges, strings, resonators and much more. Those who repair or build banjos should closely study the parts lots as they contain great value.
