Description:

THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY "Snow White" Limited Edition Serigraph Cel In 1937, the first full-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," was released by Walt Disney Studio. This classic film was a spectacular success and revealed animation as a new art form. The film received a special Academy Award. The art for this serigraph cel was carefully selected by Disney artists from the original animation drawing used to produce "Snow White.' The artists used the master print of the film as their color guide. The serigraphy artisans at Chicago Serigraphic Workshop created eighteen separate screens, one for each individual color, from which the edition was printed, one color at a time. By using this meticulous serigraph process, the hand-crafted quality of an original cel was achieved. This limited edition is comprised of 9,500 seri-graph cels. As is the custom in fine art print-making, the silkscreens used to create the edition were destroyed when the edition was completed. And, just as an original print must bear the artist's signature to ensure authenticity, each of these serigraph cels bears the distinctive seal of the Walt Disney Company. "Snow White" serigraph cel is fragile and should always be framed under Plexiglas or glass. This certificate can be affixed to the back of the frame. Condition: Very Fine
